2023 Boundless Indigenous Writer’s Mentorship for Finding Billy Brown

Edoardo’s novel manuscript titled Finding Billy Brown was also shortlisted for both the Black and White Fellowship and David Unaipon Award. Edoardo’s novel manuscript titled Finding Billy Brown is a speculative fiction time travel tale about an Indigenous man who is disconnected from family and country, thrust into a journey of self-discovery to embrace his past. Billy Brown is an Australian Football League champion who finds himself flung back into the 1930s and must fight his boxing champion great-grandfather for the championship in order to get back to the future. Driven by his deep personal quest for further understanding, cultural connection, and knowledge, Edoardo embraces his imagination to fill the spaces that research cannot. Edoardo hopes to turn this into a TV series or feature film. Read more here.
